The event, held on Saturday, raised about $7000 for the Otago Community Hospice. Hospice development and engagement manager Becs Wilson said the show, at the Forbury Rd home of Malcolm and Lyn Farry, had been successful - "it's always wonderful to have a full house".

The hospice had to raise $2.5 million each year to continue operating, and was always looking for ways of raising money.

During the "Champagne, Cake & Couture" show, fashion historian Dr Jane Malthus and Mrs Brinsley discussed her collection, which includes many international labels, as well as her favourite New Zealand brands.
