The Otago Daily Times understands the entertainer, who is the first international performer confirmed for the Forsyth Barr Stadium, will stay at St Clair Beach Resort during his time in Dunedin.
The singer is also rumoured to have exclusive use of the hotel's restaurant, Pier 24, for his stay.
Hotel manager James Hacon declined to confirm whether the singer was on the guest list, saying such information was not disclosed.

A tour of the hotel after it opened in 2009 revealed the fourth-floor suite boasts a super king-size bed, spa bath and large balcony.
But importantly, for those wanting privacy, it cannot be viewed from the road.
The suite was believed to have been used by other celebrities, including Welsh singer Tom Jones and London fashion designer Zandra Rhodes.
Capital C Concerts managing director Phil Sprey, who is promoting the event, said details about where the artist would stay were confidential.
He was also tight-lipped over the date of the concert and ticket prices, but said an announcement would be made shortly.
The concert is expected to be held sometime after Dunedin has hosted its three games in the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the last of which is on October 2.
Details of a support act were also yet to be revealed, Mr Sprey said.
