The Toitu Otago Settlers Museum education servicehas subcontracted experienced educator Jenny Neilson to provide guided tours at the Dunedin Amenities Society's Craigieburn historic site.
A partnership between the museum and the society had proved ''very successful'', with 300 pupils taking part in tours of the historic area in recent months, museum staff said in a recent report.
Craigieburn is a colonial subsistence farm situated near Ross Creek, Dunedin, and is above Leith Valley.
The tours had heightened public awareness of this unique historic site and enhanced pupils' knowledge of ''the reality of life for early settlers making a living out of the bush'', the report said.
