Dunedin could become known as the model sister city as siblings, again, line up to compete in New Zealand's Next Top Model on television.

Last season, Lucy and Olivia Murphy featured on the show, while this year, twins Elza and Nellie Jenkins have made it to a group of 33 from which 13 or 14 models will be selected to compete for the top model title.

The identities of the 33 young women were to be secret, but a photo-shoot on Wellington's waterfront allowed a Dominion Post photographer to snap several hopefuls, including Elza, whose photograph featured on the Stuff website yesterday.

Their agent, Ali McD Modelling Agency director Aliana McDaniel, confirmed five of the agency's models were in the final selection group, but "could not name names".

Ms McDaniel was told the "highest quality girls" who made it to this stage of the competition were from her agency.

Show spokesman Jade Rook said between 500 and 1000 women auditioned for the show, and about 200 were chosen as possibilities.

They were whittled down to 33, and will be culled again before the group moves into the model house, in Auckland, where most of the show will be shot.

The series will screen later this winter.
