He was one of several motorists caught drink-driving in Dunedin over the weekend, Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said.
Police were called to Taieri Rd at 5.10am on Sunday after a 37-year-old man crashed his car into several other cars while driving home from Fairfield.
He recorded a breath alcohol level of 936mcg.
Just over an hour later, at 6.30am, police were called after an 18-year-old man crashed his vehicle near Dundas St and did a runner.
The man was found in George St, where he recorded a breath alcohol level of 883mcg.
At 4.40pm, a 51-year-old male driver was stopped on the Southern Motorway, where he recorded 573mcg.
He admitted to having drunk alcohol, and was on his way to Milton after leaving a nearby tavern.
Another driver who had been drinking, this time at an Octagon bar, was pulled over while driving home in Kenmure Rd at 5.34pm.
The 44-year-old woman was initially stopped for speeding, after being clocked doing 65km in a 50km area.
She recorded a breath alcohol level of 499mcg.
