Doug Hall, owner of Hall Bros Transport, told the Otago Daily Times yesterday he was ''thinking seriously'' about another bid for a council seat, running as a self-financed independent.
That was despite his dispute with the council over the highway realignment, which last year prompted him to seek a High Court review of the process underpinning its construction.
Mr Hall had stood previously, and unsuccessfully, for a council seat, and aborted his last bid in 2010 for health reasons.
However, ''frustrations'' over his dealings with the council meant he was determined to stand.
''I think I've got a hell of a lot of stuff to offer the council because there's so much stuff I've been involved in,'' he said.
