Dogs on parade at Dunedin competition

Carlysle Maydon's miniature dachshund Ziggy, of Mosgiel, (left) plays with Kristin Townsend's Samoyed Whoopi, of Dunedin, at the Waikouaiti Kennel Association ribbon parade and fun day at Forrester Park Kennel Club in Northeast Valley yesterday.

Club president Judith Hyslop said nearly 50 purebred dogs were entered in the event.

"It was an awesome turnout.''

The American Staffordshire terrier of Zeta Jordan, of Dunedin, was named "best on parade'' and the bracco Italiano of Chris Taylor. of Momona, was named "reserve on parade''.

The fun day included prizes for the dog with the loudest bark and "wagliest'' tail.
