Acting Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson, of Dunedin, said Southroads "were doing some work up at Hillary St," in Pine Hill, and workers left a digger bucket at a property overnight.
"Somebody’s come and pinched it."
Also reported to police yesterday was the theft of a laptop from a Leith St flat on Sunday, while a party was under way next door, Snr Sgt Thomson said.
