Dunedin city councillors appear set to get an update today relating to an investigation into the conduct of council chief executive Sandy Graham.

An extraordinary meeting closed to the public is due to be held by the Dunedin City Council at 4pm and the agenda refers to an update from a decision-making committee.

The agenda does not say the item is about the investigation of Ms Graham, but the Otago Daily Times received a statement late last week saying "a report" on her matter would be received by the council shortly.

In a separate statement on Friday, Dunedin Mayor Jules Radich said the decision-making committee had communicated to councillors informally relating to its decision about Ms Graham and this would be reported formally "in due course".

Both statements said the committee’s final decision was unanimous.

Ms Graham apologised to a staff member after an investigation by a King’s Counsel.

The council has not said what the investigation’s findings were.

Lack of access to the report written by Maria Dew, KC, has caused some disquiet among councillors, the ODT understands.

Mr Radich said the process of delegating authority to the committee had been decided by the council.

"I have full confidence in the process and in the decision-making," he said.

The council has not disclosed how large or small the committee was.
