Date set for Swann sentencing

Michael Swann and Kerry Harford will be sentenced in the High Court next March for what is thought to be New Zealand's largest employee fraud.

Swann (47), the Otago District Health Board's former chief information officer, and 48-year-old Harford, a Queenstown surveyor, were found guilty earlier this month on three charges each of defrauding the ODHB of $16.9 million over a six-year period. Following the jury's verdict, Justice Stevens declined to grant bail.

The High Court at Dunedin yesterday advised the two men would be sentenced on Wednesday, March 11.
