A police spokesman said they responded to a cyclist-only crash in Castle St, near the intersection with Hanover St, about 9.20am.
A lane was blocked as a result, the spokesman said.
A St John spokesman said one person had moderate injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance.
