An opened car door resulted in a Mosgiel cyclist being taken to hospital yesterday, police say.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said officers were called to Factory Rd about 3.15pm.
A 63-year-old woman had been cycling along, but when the driver of a parked car opened the door she swerved to avoid it, moving into a lane.
She then hit the side of a moving vehicle.
St John said they sent one ambulance and treated and transported one patient in a minor condition to Dunedin Hospital.
The incident served as a reminder to motorists to check for cyclists, Snr Sgt Bond said.
