The trio were arrested yesterday following the execution of a search warrant at an Oregon St, Dunedin, property yesterday.
A 27-year-old man faces charges of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery and two of theft (of fuel from petrol stations).
A 19-year-old woman is charged with aggravated burglary and two counts of aggravated robbery.
A third woman (20) is accused of committing an aggravated burglary and an aggravated robbery.
The defendants, all from Dunedin, were granted interim name suppression and will appear by in court on August 10.
Court documents allege that the male defendant stole more than $150 of fuel on July 8 and 15 and committed crimes using a firearm and a knife.
According to charge sheets, the defendants got away with cash, cigarettes and confectionary but no amounts are specified.
Yesterday's search warrant followed an investigation into three incidents which featured the Musselburgh Food Centre on June 7, the Stadium Store in St Kilda on Sunday evening and the Elgin Food Market in Maryhill on Monday night.
Police said yesterday’s raid recovered a firearm, one of several items thought to be linked to the robberies.
