An armed robber who raided three Dunedin dairies will be released from prison more than two years before his sentence end date.

Andre Williams Goddard (31) will be the last of a trio responsible for the 2018 spree of heists to be freed after he was granted parole at a hearing last month, midway through a six-year stretch.

Cyenna Grace-Ngaro was released mid last year while Shyanne Oliver-Baker got out in 2020.

The board imposed an array of strict conditions on Goddard which included the use of electronic monitoring equipment and a ban from entering Dunedin.

He and Oliver-Baker first robbed the Musselburgh Dairy, taking cash, cigarettes and tobacco pouches worth nearly $3000.

She placed a pillowcase on the shop counter which the shopkeeper filled with notes and coins, while Goddard pointed an air pistol at the victim.

The duo then joined forces with Grace-Ngaro to burgle the Stadium Store in St Kilda, again taking cash and goods.

Oliver-Baker acted as getaway driver while Goddard and Grace-Ngaro — armed with a butcher’s knife — went inside, again making off with cigarettes, cash and confectionery.

They hit the Elgin Food Market the following day, taking a till drawer containing nearly $3000.

The court heard the Australian-born Goddard was serving a sentence of intensive supervision at the time, for damaging his mother’s house.

His five-page criminal history, including violence and non-compliance, stemmed from a history of drug use, panel convener Annabel Markham said.

However, Goddard had stayed out of serious trouble while living in Australia from 2011-17, records confirmed.

A psychologist classed him as a moderate risk of violent reoffending.

While Goddard was reprimanded last year for fighting, he had been transferred to Rolleston Prison where he had maintained ‘‘very good conduct’’, the board said.

He will be released in two weeks on conditions including. —

-  To live at Christchurch accommodation as directed.

-  To comply with tenancy rules at the residence.

- To submit to electronic monitoring.

- Not to possess alcohol or non-prescription drugs.

- Not to communicate with co-offenders or victims.

- Not to enter Dunedin.

- To attend a monitoring hearing with the Parole Board in May.

- To attend an assessment and any counselling as directed.

- To inform Probation of any changes in employment.
