Another Dunedin cat owner has reported her pet was shot in the same street as a previous cat shooting this year.
Bremner St woman Karen Peacock said she took her cat Mudge to the vet in June for what appeared to be a neck abscess.
But the vet discovered an air rifle pellet lodged in the 9-year-old's neck.
Mrs Peacock said Mudge was recovering well.
In May, another cat was shot in the same Fairfield street.
Owner Bonnie Smith said Izzy would have a lifelong limp.
Earlier this week, a third cat, Toast, arrived home with two air rifle pellets lodged in her head.
The owner's daughter, Nicole Serong, said she had been contacted by people who believed they knew who carried out the attack.
Both Ms Smith and Ms Serong had reported the incidents to police.
A police spokeswoman urged any cat owner to report such incidents.
