A police spokeswoman said a stolen Nissan Navara ute was identified after it failed to stop for police about 9.20am.
Police did not pursue the driver but multiple officers searched for the vehicle around the St Clair area.
The vehicle was located in Bedford St about 9.40am.
The driver was not with the vehicle, the spokeswoman said.
No arrests had yet been made. The incident was under investigation, the spokeswoman said.
