A man who was the subject of a Central Otago manhunt this week will apply for bail on Monday.
William Hillis Cottle (19), retailer, of Mosgiel, was arrested on Thursday after an area around Cromwell was placed in lockdown the previous day.
Cordons were in place around Lowburn and Mt Pisa, and residents were advised to lock their cars and stay inside.
Cottle was found at a property in Cromwell at 8am on Thursday, police said.
He made a brief appearance in the Queenstown District Court following his arrest before yesterday's Dunedin District Court hearing, in which he participated via audio-visual link from Invercargill Prison.
Counsel Debbie Ericsson made a bail application, the details of which cannot be revealed.
However, after discussion with Judge John Macdonald and police, the matter was adjourned until next week.
Cottle is charged with reckless driving in Dunedin's George St on Monday, as well as intentionally damaging a Mitsubishi Triton with reckless disregard for the safety of two people.
The following day it is alleged he intentionally damaged a car window, assaulted its owner with intent to injure him and had possession of an axe in Watson St.
It is understood Cottle has also been charged with possessing a firearm in relation to his activities in Central Otago.
About 35 police staff from throughout Otago were involved in the incident, police said.
They included armed offenders squad members and police negotiating team members from Dunedin, plus dogs and their handlers from Invercargill.
A police helicopter, drone and road spikes were also used.
