A man arrested after brandishing a knife at a commercial premises in Green Island was held in custody to sober up, police say.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said officers were called to Main South Rd, about 9am yesterday.
He said a 35-year-old man had entered a commercial yard and was "hanging around the yard and the vehicles".
‘‘When confronted by staff, he pulled a knife out of his bag.’’
Snr Sgt Bond said the man was found by police nearby, still in possession of the knife.
He has been charged with being unlawfully on a property and unlawfully in possession of a knife.
The man was held in custody to sober up before being bailed, he said.
