Police are thanking members of the public for their co-operation after an incident that led to a Dunedin man being arrested on assault charges.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said officers were called to reports of a man assaulting a woman in Maclaggan St about 5pm yesterday.
The man threw a bike at the woman, Snr Sgt Bond said.
A 41-year-old man was arrested for assault with a blunt instrument and would appear in court, Snr Sgt Bond said.
Police were grateful for the assistance of members of the public who assisted with inquiries, Snr Sgt Bond said.
