Police are appealing for information after a man exposed himself and performed a lewd act in front of another man in Dunedin on Friday evening.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said an unknown man approached a male member of the public who was walking down John Wilson Ocean Dr in St Kilda about 7.30pm.
The man was exposing himself then began performing a lewd act in front of the other man, before running off towards the car park, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.
The informant lost sight of the man and it was unknown whether he got into a car.
Police conducted area inquiries but did not find him.
The offender was described as Caucasian, wearing black shorts and a grey T-shirt featuring a large black stripe on his sleeve.
Dunedin police received a slew of reports last year and earlier this year during the warmer months of men exposing themselves and performing lewd acts in the area of St Kilda and St Clair beaches, as well as at the Dunedin Botanic Garden.
