Drugs disclosed after bus hub disorder

When police responded to a fight at the Dunedin bus hub, the alleged culprit handed over two $50 bags of cannabis to the attending officers, police say.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to reports of fighting or an assault at the Great King St bus hub across the road from the Dunedin Central Police Station on Friday about 3.30pm.

Police spoke to a youth who was identified as being the one behind the disorder.

While with police, he handed over a cigarette packet within which was two $50 bags of cannabis.

The matter was referred to Youth Aid, Snr Sgt Bond said.
