A woman has been arrested after threats were made to a Work and Income staff member in Dunedin yesterday.
The verbal threat prompted a lockdown of the department's central Dunedin office yesterday while police searched for the alleged offender.
The office, along with two other service centres in South Dunedin and Mosgiel, remained on restricted access for the rest of the day.
Sergeant Blair Dalton, of Dunedin, said a woman had been arrested this morning and would appear in the Dunedin District Court.
He could not provide details of the incident, but said nobody else was being sought by police and there were no fears for the safety of the public.
