Dunedin police have slammed the actions of a driver caught speeding at more than 70kmh near primary schools at lunch time this week.
The driver was one of more than two dozen caught speeding this week in the city.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said eight were caught at Mornington Rd and 18 at Caversham Valley Rd.
The highest speed recorded in Caversham Valley Rd was 126kmh while the worst speeder in Mornington Rd was 76kmh, he said.
One driver was nabbed in Mornington Rd travelling more than 70kmh near two primary schools around lunch time.
Snr Sgt Dinniseen was blunt in his appraisal of that driver's actions.
"Absolutely disgusting".
