Court appearance

A man will appear in court after allegedly punching "multiple victims" in a Dunedin street last week.

Acting Senior Sergeant Simon Reay said police were called to King Edward St at 6.40pm last Friday after receiving reports alleging a man was punching people.

Members of the public informed police that the man had allegedly assaulted "multiple victims on the street", he said.

Officers found and arrested a 48-year-old man outside Cash Converters.

Victims were assessed at the scene by ambulance staff and there were no serious injuries.

The man is due to appear in court later this week.
