Three vacant senior management roles at the Dunedin City Council are at varying stages of resolution as the 2011 year begins.
Council human resources manager Bruce Miller said recruitment company EQI Global had been appointed to find a new chief executive to replace Jim Harland, who left the council last week, and a meeting with the company was planned soon to discuss the issue.
Dunedin Centre manager Svend Tolson, who joined the council in 2008, had resigned, and left late last year, Mr Miller said.
The role of centre manager would come under the control of Dunedin Venues Management Ltd, which will also take over the running of other council venues, including the Edgar Centre and town hall.
Mr Miller said it would be up to that company to hire a new manager.
The council had actively looked for a replacement for transportation planning manager Don Hill, who left the council last year because of illness, but had not found a suitable candidate.
Acting transportation planning manager Sarah Weller would continue in the role for the next six months, Mr Miller said.
