The Dunedin St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool reopened for the summer season yesterday, attracting holidaying school pupils (from left) Erin Loo, 11, Josef Lippross, 9, Rosa Lippross, 12, Lucy Loo, 13, Ursel Lippross, 7, and Martha Lippross, 14.
The pool is heated to 28°C and is a mixture of salt and chlorinated water. It is the only surviving salt water pool of several in Dunedin, from the late 1800s.
The pool registered 39,000 visits in the 2023-24 season. It will close again in late March next year, for the winter season.
