Screams will be heard again tonight within the walls of Macandrew Bay School's former dental clinic, which will reopen as a haunted house for Halloween.
The haunted house raised more than $500 for the school on Sunday, and will reopen featuring even more spooks between 6.30pm and 9pm today, with entry by gold-coin donation.
Creative designer Jacqui Hay put more than 40 hours into creating the display, and Macandrew Bay pupils made some of the props.
Potions, bats, spiders and skeletons line the walls, with some surprising shocks that made Sunday's visitors jump, all to an eerie soundtrack produced by a parent.
"At least half of the visitors let out a scream. Some even ran right through," Mrs Hay said.
She said the inspiration for the house came from her favourite movie, The Night Before Christmas.
Mrs Hay predicted Halloween ghost-hunters would leave the haunted house "spooked".
