Clifftop track has spectacular scenery

Heyward Point looms over Aramoana Beach, amid the high cliffs and steep sand dunes. Heyward Point Track is a 5km advanced tramping track which follows the clifftops before descending through regenerating bush to the more exposed Heyward Point.

The track has two starting points — one off Aramoana Rd, 50m before Pari St, and the other at the end of Heyward Point Rd.

From the clifftop track there are great coastal views. On the right travellers will see Taiaroa Head and the mouth of Otago Harbour and on the left, Otago’s east coast.
