Citizens get pedalling for Bike Wise Mayoral Challenge

Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull braves wearing Lycra on a grey day for a good cause yesterday, leading up to 200 cyclists along John Wilson Ocean Dr in the Bike Wise Mayoral Challenge.

The event, organised by cycling clubs and companies, the Dunedin City Council and Sport Otago, included a day of activities at nearby Marlow Park.

Similar events to encourage cycling are planned for Balclutha and Oamaru, as well as elsewhere around New Zealand, during February.
