Checking the health of the harbour

Logan Park High School pupil Jared Anderson (16) and Columba College pupil Cate Butcher (16) run tests on water extracted from Otago Harbour near the Otago Yacht Club yesterday.

The tests were conducted under the watchful eye of Healthy Harbour Watchers co-ordinator and John McGlashan science teacher Andrew Innes.

The aim of the testing is to create a database which can be used to refer to when monitoring the water quality and commenting on the environmental health of Otago Harbour.
