A car which was set alight at the 17th hole of Chisholm Park Golf course this morning was unlawfully taken police say.
A police spokeswoman said the car was stolen about 1am.
The owner of the vehicle is yet to be found.
A spokesman for the New Zealand Fire Service said an appliance from the St Kilda station attended the fire at 1.02am.
The blaze is the latest in a spate of suspicious car fires to have occurred in the city in the past three months.
Police are continuing investigations.
