Car retrieved from harbour after crash near Portobello

A car was fished out of Otago Harbour near Portobello today.

The car came off Harrington Point Rd and ended up in the water before being towed out about noon.

Two passing fishermen assisted following the crash.

The driver was taken to Dunedin Hospital by a local of the area.

She is understood to have not sustained any serious injuries.

Police Senior Constable Aaron Smith, of Portobello, encouraged drivers to take care, drive to the conditions and wear seatbelts.
