Dr Keith Reid confirmed yesterday they had been discharged, and said the Southern District Health Board was keeping an eye on Studholme College, where one of the students was living.
The college has had three cases of the same strain of meningococcal disease since March.
''We are working hard to understand what's going on there.''
Antibiotics were given out en masse at the hall of residence last week, the first time that has happened in the region since an outbreak of meningococcal at Mt Aspiring College in 2016.
''We'll be closely watching what happens, with the rest of the week the highest risk period.''
Dr Reid said antibiotics had been distributed to close contacts of the other student, who was diagnosed in the last fortnight.
