Police say common sense prevailed at a North Dunedin property where the occupants intended to hold a "Covid-positive party" last night.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police visited an address in Leith St North where the occupants had planned to stage a party.
He said they cancelled the initial party after some of the occupants tested positive for Covid.
Instead, they were looking to have a "Covid-positive party" involving all their friends who had tested positive, he said.
"Police advised them that this is a stupid idea."
Snr Sgt Bond said police monitored the property overnight and there were no signs of any gatherings.
He said police were happy that common sense prevailed and a "Covid-positive party" didn’t occur.
