A group of teenagers bought packets of the synthetic cannabis product K2 with some of the proceeds of a burglary of a North Dunedin home, police say.
Jewellery, electrical equipment and laptops were taken, Sergeant Chris McLellan said. While inside, the teenagers caused ''a significant amount of damage''.
After that burglary, a group of youths had used some of the proceeds to buy K2 from their local dairy, he said.
A 16-year-old youth had been charged following the burglary of the Royal Tce house this week.
A 16-year-old girl was being interviewed for allegedly receiving a laptop, Sgt McLellan said.
A significant amount of property remained outstanding, including heirlooms, jewellery and watches.
