Dishonesty offences continue to be a problem in Dunedin, police say.
Three Dunedin men were arrested and charged in relation to burglaries and thefts in the city on Monday.
Senior Sergeant Bruce Ross said a Union St East resident found a 26-year-old man trying to pry open a window of their house about 2.30am.
The man fled but was tracked by a police dog and apprehended in a nearby street.
He was arrested and charged with burglary, although nothing was taken from the house.
At 5.45am, police officers found a 27-year-old man ''trying the door handle'' of a vehicle parked in Great King St, Snr Sgt Ross said.
The man was arrested and charged with unlawfully interfering with a vehicle.
At 2.35pm, a manager at the Princes St Night 'n Day store followed a 56-year-old man out of the shop after the man had concealed a tube of coffee and milk within his jersey sleeve, Snr Sgt Ross said.
The man was co-operative with the store employee, but police were called and he was arrested and charged with theft.
