A series of burglaries over the holiday weekend has prompted a reminder to residents to secure property.
Over the weekend a 17-year-old was charged with two burglaries in the North Dunedin area, while another 17-year-old was charged with receiving stolen goods.
Personal items from a student flat in Clyde St were targeted in another burglary, and a computer was taken from a Forth St property, Senior Sergeant Mark Crawford, of Dunedin, said.
Meanwhile, $160 worth of cheese was taken from a commercial property in Evansdale. Groceries were stolen from a Fingall St, South Dunedin property, and laptop was taken from a Glenpark Ave flat in Mornington.
Several vehicles were also broken into, including a car in North Dunedin which had $5000 of kitesurfing gear removed between Saturday and Monday.
Snr Sgt Crawford said residents should secure their property, and report any suspicious behaviour to police.
