In an event to raise money for the neonatal intensive care unit at Dunedin Hospital, a luxury lunch was held from 12.30pm to 3pm at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.
The 100 tickets sold for $100 each, with all proceeds directed to the cause.
Extra money donated during the event also went to the neonatal unit.
Harbour Fish manager Aaron Cooper said he hoped to make the fundraising event, which was timed for the start of oyster season, an annual fixture.
He and others involved chose to give money to the neonatal unit because they had young children and deemed it a worthy cause.
Mr Cooper said the 200 dozen oysters for the lunch were bought at a "good rate" offered by Ngai Tahu. Dunedin law firm Downie Stewart sponsored the venue costs.
