Brisbane timetable rejigged for connections

International flights between Dunedin and Brisbane will be ''retimed'' to improve connections to other Australian destinations.

Virgin Australia announced yesterday its Dunedin flights into Brisbane would be scheduled so connections to Adelaide, Canberra and other Queensland destinations were viable and easy.

The schedule would also allow for same-day connecting flights out of Brisbane to selected destinations in North America.

A Virgin Australia spokeswoman said flights from Dunedin to Brisbane would run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays departing at either 8am or 4.10pm.

Flights would also depart on Sundays on a seasonal basis at the same times.

''The changes will improve connectivity on to other services,'' the spokeswoman said.

The airline has added up to four extra flights per week to its Brisbane to Queenstown schedule to allow more visitors into the resort during the ski season.

The extra flights will run from June 25 to October 2 next year.

The extra flights were ''very much about the snow season'', she said.
