Proceeds from the sale of more than 15,000 second-hand books and 4000 records will go towards the Taieri Pool project thanks to the annual Mosgiel Rotary Club book sale which opens on Friday, September 11.
The Taieri Pool was an important project for the community and Rotary wanted to support it, Mosgiel Rotary Club president Graham Beach said.
''It was a new project which looked like it needed supporting,'' Mr Beach said.
Club member and organiser Michael Lawlor said they were ''100% behind the project''.
''Rotary wants to be out there to be seen doing something for the pool,'' he said.
''They have a great need in the community [for the pool].''
Mr Lawlor said people should come to the book sale and buy a book or a record, which range in price from $1 to $3, to show their support for the pool.
''[They will be] supporting a great cause and they've got 12 months' reading material that's top class.
''There's a great range for the hobbyists, gardeners, cooks, historians, and children's books. There's a wide range.''
Book sale proceeds had gone to St John last year and to the Neurological Foundation in 2013.
The book sale will be held at the Taieri Bowling Club on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from September 11-13.
