Three boaties have been rescued tonight after getting into difficulty off the coast of Dunedin.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to reports of a vessel in difficulty, west of Green Island, just after 7pm and a search and rescue operation began.
There were three people on board the 4.5-metre boat, she said.
About 7.45pm, the boat had been located and trio were all back on shore safe and well at 8.18pm.
A low mist had descended over Dunedin from the afternoon, making for poor visibility.
