Nikolas James Posa Delegat was charged in March after a late-night altercation outside popular student haunt Starters Bar.
Delegat - whose family owns the winemaking empire Delegat Group - fought for name suppression.
However, the Court of Appeal quashed that bid last month.
His case was called in the Dunedin District Court yesterday when Judge Michael Crosbie confirmed name suppression had lapsed and set a trial date of May 23 next year.
Delegat, whose appearance was excused yesterday, is the son of Jakov ‘‘Jim'' Delegat and wife Kate.
The National Business Review listed Jim Delegat and sister Rosemari's wealth at $350million in this year's Rich List.
Delegat's fight for name suppression began in May after an application was filed in the Auckland District Court.
That fight continued through the High Court and Court of Appeal before the Court of Appeal dismissed it last month.
When contacted yesterday, defence counsel Mark Ryan confirmed Delegat had exhausted his appeals.
Delegat is charged with aggravated assault of a policewoman, assaulting a Campus Watch security guard and wilful damage following an incident about 11pm on March 23.
Delegat was a first-year University of Otago student at the time of the incident and it is understood he has since withdrawn from the university but would be subject to a disciplinary process if he were to return.
He competed in the Sydney to Hobart race last year on his father's million-dollar yacht Giacomo.
Delegat is remanded on bail ahead of his trial.
