A council-owned building in Victoria Rd, at the southern end of Kettle Park, (pictured below, red roof, in 2016) was recently demolished due to its dilapidated state to create more parking for sports field and beach users, a Dunedin City Council spokeswoman said.

The building was on reserve land. Asbestos was removed before it was demolished. It had several uses over the years, including as hockey clubrooms, a beauty therapy studio and most recently a gym.
