Dunedin police were called to deal with disorder at a party in Stafford St yesterday afternoon.

Two arrests were made. Senior Sergeant James Ure said one arrest was for serious assault by a 21-year-old male on a female about 3.30pm.

The second was for disorderly behaviour by a male between 5pm and 6pm. By that time, people were leaving the party.

Snr Sgt Ure said the biggest risk was the number of people inside the premises in the event of a fire.

The Fire Service assisted police during the afternoon, assessing the risk.
