Arrest after truck tracked to CBD

A policewoman guards a Countdown truck after it was tracked by police to central Dunedin yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said one person was taken into custody and police were speaking with another person involved.

An ODT photographer said the man was taken into custody about 12.30pm yesterday.

The arrest was made after the truck was parked in George St near the intersection with Bath St.

When asked about police attempts to locate a Countdown truck, the spokeswoman said the incident related to a family harm matter.

Police declined to answer further questions.

A Countdown spokesman said the company was aware of the incident but all comment was being left to police.
