Arrest after man threw chairs at Civic Centre

An intoxicated man who threw chairs around Dunedin's Civic Centre was arrested yesterday.

Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said police were called to the scene at 5.28pm on Thursday, after reports of a man throwing chairs and yelling abuse at the public.

When police arrived he was ''clearly intoxicated'' and said he wanted to fight.

The 42-year-old was arrested and given a formal warning.
