OUSA president Francisco Hernandez said the week aimed to expose students and the Dunedin public to ''the wonderful world of student art, and provide a platform for our students to show their work''.
A highlight of the week is the annual student art exhibition and sale, being held all week in the Union Hall.
OUSA event co-ordinator Rachel Enright said this year's exhibition included past and present students who were established artists.
''Having these artists on board means we have an even greater range of art on show and allows those entering for the first time to see where their passion can take them,'' she said.
Other events included the ''White Night Gallery Crawl'', which makes its way around 13 Dunedin galleries this evening.
