Air New Zealand has confirmed the airline is in consultation with its Dunedin International Airport staff about reducing hours, but job losses are "not anticipated at this stage".
Last week, the airline announced it was suspending its Dunedin to Sydney service from April 16 to October 24, and reducing its Brisbane service to one flight a week during May and June.
The airline employs 25 staff, 18 of whom are part-time, to work at the airport on both domestic and international operations.
As international and domestic services were integrated, no staff were specifically dedicated to transtasman flights, spokeswoman Tracey Palmer said.
Due to the suspension of flights, the airline is in consultation with part-time staff about their rosters, she said. Full-time staff would not be affected.
