Red Cross volunteer team leader Leisa de Klerk said 38 refugees, made up of eight families, were due to arrive from Auckland tomorrow, bringing the total number to about 120.
Like the other refugees, they would be living in Housing New Zealand properties, Ms de Klerk said.
Tomorrow's arrivals come as the previous refugees continue to make good progress learning English, with some also taking up jobs and volunteer work.
The Red Cross continued to be impressed by the response from Dunedin residents, with the number of volunteer applications having climbed above 700.
''All we need to do is put a call out for something we need and it gets donated.''
It was still keen for people to give items like new pillows, plates and knives and lawnmowers.
For the first time, three of the families arriving tomorrow would be based in Mosgiel and the Red Cross was holding two support volunteer information meetings in Mosgiel at 3pm and 6pm next Thursday.
In another change the next group of refugees, due to arrive in October, will include Palestinians.
