$1k of property stolen in Ocean View

Over $1000 worth of property was stolen from a house in Ocean View, Dunedin, over the weekend, police say.

A $700 surfboard was taken, along with two wetsuits with a combined value of $300 and a skateboard.

Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said the victim reported seeing an unknown male at the back of her property.

"[She] didn't think anything of it but woke to find items missing," Snr Sgt Waru said.

Vehicle stolen

A vehicle was stolen from a Melbourne St property sometime between 7.30pm Saturday and 5.30pm yesterday.

The white 1991 Subaru Omega was still missing.

"He left the keys in the vehicle, which is helpful for the thief but not so helpful for him," Snr Sgt Waru said.

Two other vehicles were stolen over the weekend, from Reed Rd, South Dunedin, and Regent Rd, North Dunedin, but both were recovered by police.
